Reframing
Is 2009 the year we should all learn to reframe?
Sometimes when you experience a stressful situation, you lose the ability to see that what you’re doing may actually be making it worse.
Reframing is a technique which changes the way you look at a situation in order to make you feel better about it. Take the example of a member of your team driving you mad by always acting as though they are superior. You could reframe that behaviour by thinking that they are probably insecure or see you as a threat or have some personal problems of their own.
Remember that the reality of a situation may not change but your perception of it can.
