Preventing and Reducing Bullying & Harassment: Fundamentals for Managers (1-day)
This course provides an introduction to the subject of bullying within the workplace, it will enable managers to understand the fundamentals of workplace bullying and harassment and to explore and discuss good practice in preventing or dealing with them in their own organisations. For Senior Managers we focus on raising their awareness of the issue and provide them with examples of corporate strategies that can be used to control and monitor bullying and harassment throughout the organisation. For Line Management we concentrate on enhancing their understanding of what bullying and harassment is; how to recognise it; and how to intervene to stop it. We also provide examples of management systems that will allow preventative action to be taken as soon as bullying is identified.
Preventing and Reducing Bullying & Harassment: Raising Awareness (1-day)
This is a training course for employees aimed at ensuring their understanding of what bullying and harassment is and how they can differentiate it from good management practice. Key to this training is to ensure that employees understand the roles and responsibilities they have as individuals and the roles and responsibilities management have as employers. Delegates awareness of potential bullying and harassment in the workplace is raised, including a clearer understanding of in-house policy, procedures and expectations for both themselves and colleagues who may be being bullied and harassed.
Managing Anger in the Workplace (1-day)
This is a training course that goes beyond the typical approaches to managing anger and hostility. It provides proven strategies that work in real time to help people manage their own individual anger as well as other peoples’ anger within and outside the workplace. The course improves understanding of hostile and negative behaviours and the impact these have on the organisation and the individual. Delegates learn specific techniques to help reduce their own and other people’s anger and awareness of when an anger reaction is imminent from oneself and from others is enhanced.
Managing Difficult People (1-day)
This course is of direct use to managers who have to manage difficult people in the regular course of their work. It could be someone they are managing directly or a team member whose behaviour is affecting others. The 'difficult person' could be external to the organisation or may be a colleague or senior individual within it. The course provides an insight into what makes some people more difficult to manage than others and tools and techniques will be introduced during the sessions that can be practiced and used in the workplace.
Valuing Diversity, Dignity and Respect (1-day)
Implementing an Equality and Diversity programme to ensure you are not only managing against legislation, but valuing diversity within your workforce is a primary challenge within today’s businesses. Organisations in which diversity is valued and employees feel comfortable in expressing their differences, can benefit in a variety of ways. This course is aimed at giving managers and employees at all levels an understanding of the key issues and individual responsibilities in promoting a positive approach to equal opportunities and diversity.
