Bringing routine to some of the repetitive tasks of our everyday lives does have the advantage of simplifying them and, in time, allowing us to perform them on auto-pilot. However, it also has the disadvantage of making the task mundane and ordinary which can lead to us becoming stressed through boredom. Try breaking some of your everyday routines, even on a temporary basis. Examples may include altering your route to work, sitting on a different chair in your living room or trying something different for breakfast. You may find that even a small change can reduce your risk of mundane stress and bring on an energy boost.
