Sheila is a senior, legally trained professional with over 25 years’ experience working on equality, diversity and inclusion across the United Kingdom, primarily in the public and
voluntary and community sectors.
As an independent EDI consultant, her work includes equality audits and analysis, establishing and reporting on equality objectives, Public Sector Equality Duty compliance, policy advice, programme evaluation and community and stakeholder consultation and engagement.
Sheila acted as a Specialist Advisor to the House of Commons Women and Equality Committee. She was formerly Chief Executive and Director of Policy at the Commission for Racial Equality, policy and engagement lead for the Transition Team that established the Equality and Human Rights, Trustee of the Disability Law Service and Fellow of the Runnymede Trust.
She is currently a member of the British Science Association’s Equality and Diversity Advisory Group, the Premier League’s Independent Assessment Panel for its Equality Standard and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
