This interactive course equips managers with the techniques to strengthen their communication skills and increase collaboration and trust in their teams. Participants will learn to adapt their communication style to improve their ability to negotiate, influence and handle difficult conversations.

Why Communication Skills Training for Managers is so important

Effective communication forms the basis of all good relationships in the workplace and is an essential skill for line managers. Misunderstandings, disagreements and conflict can arise when communication is poor and this can lead to a decline in overall performance and wellbeing. Changing work patterns, hybrid and home working have all impacted on the ways we communicate. Now, more than ever, it is important that communication channels within a team flow easily and team members feel listened to.

Whether the focus is strategic or operational, effective communication and influencing skills are essential to engage team members and ensure collaboration and problem solving. This training course helps participants develop strategies to adapt their communication style to different contexts. It focuses on building trust and good relationships through active listening and explores techniques to handle difficult conversations with confidence and sensitivity.

"I will definitely try to adapt how I communicate with my team, being more mindful of how my different team members prefer to be communicated with, how I ask questions to enable more response from the quieter team members and manage the more vocal members of the team. The discussions around changing up meetings was very useful and I would like to implement some of the changes we discussed within our breakout session."
