After an early career as a college lecturer in business and management (winning a Queen’s Award for the assessment of prior learning for the armed services), Lesley moved on to the design and delivery of leadership and management programmes for organisations as diverse as Renault Europe, Intel, Lloyds TSB and the NHS. She believes this has given her valuable insights into cross sector best practice, and is fascinated by how much the culture and behavioural norms of organisations can vary.
Increasingly though, her focus has been on wellbeing, especially stress management and the impact of mindfulness techniques. A strong research base is now showing how quickly mindfulness produces changes in the brain which result in less stress reactivity, improved concentration and focus, better interpersonal relationships and more.
She has been studying and practising Mindfulness and related approaches for nearly 10 years now, so she brings a wealth of insights based on her personal experience. Her approach is down-to-earth and practical, supporting participants as they consider how to apply what they have learned to their own unique situations.
