Online Workplace Mental Health Aware Half-Day

The Online Workplace Mental Health Aware training is designed to raise awareness of mental health. It provides participants with an introductory understanding of what mental health is, some common mental health issues and how to look after their own mental health and maintain wellbeing.

Course Context

In the course of a year, one in four people will experience a mental health problem. The Workplace Mental Health Aware half-day introductory session is designed to:

  • Provide an understanding of what mental health is and how stigma can be challenged
  • Give participants an introduction to looking after their own mental health and maintaining their wellbeing
  • Impart a basic knowledge of some common mental health issues
  • Raise participants’ confidence to support someone in mental and emotional distress

This new online version of the Workplace Mental Health Aware half-day course covers the same content as the ‘face-to-face’ course and has been piloted by MHFA England to ensure that it delivers the same key learning objectives. The online format provides organisations with an accessible and flexible training option where ‘face-to-face’ in-house training is not possible due to social distancing.

The course format is a blend of live sessions and self-learning activities. Delegates access an ‘online learning hub’ for both their individual learning activities and the live training sessions. Upon completion of the course, delegates receive an e-certificate of attendance.

Duration: 4 hours

Capacity: 15 delegates max

Availability: this course can be delivered online or as a 'face-to-face' in-house course, depending on social distancing requirements. Please click here for details of the 'face-to-face' in-house training course.

The many tools and features in the hub enable the Trainer to encourage participation from the delegates and the interactive exercises keep the group engaged. The Trainer will create a safe and inclusive learning environment for the delegates and will provide guidance, support and clear signposting.

Delegates will receive a manual for future reference, a workbook which includes a helpful toolkit to support their own mental health and an attendance certificate from MHFA England to say they are Mental Health Aware.
