Dr Chris Johnstone is an author, trainer and coach who specialises in teaching people skills that promote resilience and well-being. After a first degree combining medicine with psychology, he qualified in medicine with distinction in 1986. Working as a GP, he pioneered the role of stress management clinics in General Practice and then worked for nearly twenty years developing the role of psycho-educational groups in the addictions recovery field.
Chris’s interest in training led him to work as a Senior Teaching Fellow at Bristol University Medical School, where he ran their behavioural medicine programme for medical students and health professionals. For his work pioneering the role of positive psychology training in the workplace and education, he was included in the Independent on Sunday’s ‘Happy List’ of leading contributors to wellbeing in the UK.
Chris’s books include Find Your Power – a toolkit for resilience and positive change. Chris is known for his engaging style and enjoyable presentations. More recently he’s taken up the challenge applying this same engaging style in distance learning and online training.
